Why Families in Albany Look at Mental Health Treatment Centers for Teens Out of State
Some communities have more adolescent treatment resources than others. Albany has strong outpatient mental health providers, but full-time residential care specific to teens and emerging adults can be harder to find. Plus, many could have long waitlists and fewer resources available. A residential setting just a few hours away can offer as much, if not more, support for your family and your child.

Our Residential Programs for Teens and Emerging Adults
Programs are separated by age group and developmental needs. Each one offers a structured, therapeutic environment with licensed clinicians, a supportive peer group, and time away from distractions.
Set on 400 serene acres along Maine’s mid-coast, this campus provides a supportive, inclusive environment for adolescents. Around-the-clock clinical care, structured therapeutic programming, and engaging daily activities help teens stabilize and grow.
Located within 350 acres of forest in Milton, NH, this program (similar to our Maine program) offers a safe and compassionate space for healing, complete with individualized support, peer interaction, and consistent therapeutic structure.
This transitional program, tailored to young adults navigating early adulthood, utilizes intensive therapy, structure, life skills development, and outdoor experiential learning, among other techniques and treatment modalities.

What We Treat
Treatment is available for a range of mental health and behavioral issues, including:
How We Treat
Care plans aren’t recycled or one-size-fits-all. Each person is evaluated and placed on a path that fits their emotional and developmental needs.

Individual Therapy
Teens meet individually with a licensed therapist four times a week to explore personal challenges and promote growth.

Group Therapy
Daily group sessions provide a supportive space for peers to connect and strengthen essential coping skills.

Family Therapy
Structured sessions with family members focus on improving communication and resolving persistent relational patterns.

Evidence-Based Approaches
Clinicians draw on established methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices to guide treatment.

Holistic Therapies
We also use expressive arts, recreation, and outdoor experiences to encourage emotional growth and support the healing process.
