Therapeutic Support: What to Expect
We understand that each teen’s journey toward healing and growth is unique. That’s why our therapeutic support program aims to meet the needs of each teen. One of the main components of our program is individual therapy sessions, where your teen will work with a licensed therapist three times a week. These sessions provide a safe and confidential space for your teen to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
In addition to individual therapy, we have family therapy sessions once a week. We believe that family therapy and parent coaching are crucial in the treatment process and our therapists will work with you and your teen to address any underlying family issues and improve communication and relationships.
Our outdoor experiential activities are designed to help teens develop new skills, build confidence, and foster healthy relationships. These activities include hiking, camping, team-building exercises, and more. By engaging in these activities, teens can learn how to cope with challenges positively and develop a sense of accomplishment.
The size of our program allows us to maintain a low staff-to-student ratio of 1:4. This ensures that each teen receives personalized attention and support from our trained staff members. Our staff are available 24/7 to provide guidance, support, and supervision for the teens.
Why Choose Ridge RTC?
What sets Ridge RTC apart from other treatment centers is the integration of evidence-based therapies with experiential activities. By combining traditional therapies such as CBT with experiential therapies like art or music, teenagers can engage in therapeutic work while also having fun and learning new skills.
Our therapists are highly trained professionals who specialize in working with adolescent populations. They provide individualized treatment plans for each teenager based on their specific needs and goals. The goal of therapy services at Ridge RTC is not just to alleviate symptoms, but to help teenagers develop long-term coping strategies so they can lead healthy, fulfilling lives beyond their time at the treatment center.
Benefits of Therapeutic Support at Ridge RTC
There are numerous benefits of therapeutic support for teens at Ridge RTC. Some of the key advantages include:
At Ridge RTC, we understand that each teen is unique and requires a tailored treatment approach. Our therapeutic support program combines various evidence-based therapies and techniques to provide a comprehensive treatment plan for each individual.
Adolescence is a crucial stage where teenagers face various emotional and mental challenges. Our therapeutic support aims to address these issues by providing a safe and supportive environment for teens to express their thoughts and feelings. Through our teen stabilization program, we help them develop coping mechanisms to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
Many teens struggle with effective communication, which can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts with peers, family members, and authority figures. Our therapeutic support program focuses on improving communication skills by teaching teens how to express themselves assertively, listen actively, and resolve conflicts peacefully.
Through therapy sessions, we aim to help teens gain insight into their thoughts, behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses. This self-awareness allows them to identify areas of improvement and work towards personal growth.
Instead of turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as teen substance abuse or self-harm, our therapeutic support program helps teens develop healthy coping strategies like mindfulness techniques, journaling, exercise, or art therapy.
Teens at Ridge RTC are surrounded by a community of trained therapists and peers who understand the challenges they are facing. This supportive environment encourages open communication and provides a sense of belonging for the teens.
As part of our therapeutic support program, we also prepare teens for their transition back home or into another living arrangement. We equip them with the necessary tools to maintain their progress after leaving Ridge RTC.
Therapy Services at Ridge RTC
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative patterns of thinking and behavior to improve overall mental health. This therapy is particularly beneficial for adolescents as it helps them develop coping skills and problem-solving techniques that they can use in their daily lives.
Experiential therapy involves using hands-on activities such as art, music, or outdoor activities to facilitate emotional growth and healing. This type of therapy can be especially effective for adolescents who may have difficulty expressing themselves through traditional talk therapy methods. By engaging in these activities, adolescents can explore their emotions in a safe and supportive environment.
Group therapy provides adolescents with the opportunity to connect with others who are going through similar struggles. This can be immensely beneficial as it creates a sense of community and support within the treatment program. In group therapy sessions, adolescents can share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop important social skills.
